Nineteen Fifty-Six

Named after the year 1956 when the first African American, Autherine Lucy-Foster, enrolled at the University of Alabama, Nineteen Fifty-Six Magazine is the first Black student-led magazine at the University of Alabama. The goal of the magazine is to celebrate and spotlight Black culture, excellence, and student experiences that take place at the university and in the Tuscaloosa community at large.​​​​​​​ Issues are published online monthly and can be accessed through Yumpu.​​​​​​​
